The Project „Circulatory System Disease Prevention and Healthy Lifestyle Promotion in the Area of the Słubice District” has been implemented by the Słubice District since April 2015.
The aim of the Project is to improve public health and reduce social inequalities in healthcare as well as to prevent the incidence of lifestyle-related diseases. The Project is targeted at those people who are directly endangered by the incidence of circulatory diseases.
Within the framework of the obtained funding, 15 000 inhabitants from the Słubice District is going to take part in the survey. Taking the results into consideration, some of them will be invited for basic medical tests. The next step is to indicate the patients in different age groups ( ages 7-19 and over 30) who will undergo the specialized medical examination with regard to cardiac diseases.
When implementing the Project, health-promoting picnics will be held, special healthy eating workshops conducted by dieticians will be organized in schools, and a group of doctors and some medical staff will undergo a specialized training on circulatory system disease prevention. The District will also purchase pressure measuring apparatus and glucometers in the amount of 450 units each, as well as 100 juicers which will be delivered to schools and the Project beneficiaries.
The Project is funded by the Norwegian Financing Mechanism 2009 – 2014 within the Operation Programm PL-13: Reduction of Social Inequalities In Healthcare. The amount of the grants is 3 092 757 00 PLN.
